DANGER ZONE from Italy started back in the day, in the glorious eighties, but now with their second album in three years, they go full force. You get melodic hard rock with a lot of AOR and some metal, too. It’s frontman Giacomo Gigantelli foremost, who fully delivers with his remarkable vocal range and the fact that there is basically no accent, is a huge surprise. Check out the energetic “Demon Or Saint“ or the rather emotional “Eternity“ with some QUEEN elements. The melodic but powerful “Hang On To Your Heart“ and many other songs need to be played live for sure. More melodic than the strong predecessor “Closer To Heaven“ (2016), more in-depth lyrics and an even better production. The latter was handled once again by the American Jody Gray in collaboration with Roberto Priori (g). In general, the songs on “Don’t Count On Heroes“ offer a more cinematic approach for the most part. To cut it short: Great record from Italy. A great record for AOR, melodic rock and melodic metal fans. And it is about time that the guys play outside Italy…
